Happy New Year! I feel like my last post was a Happy New Year post come to think about it. 2020 was filled with so many ups and downs so I decided to make my first post one that highlights love and positivity.

Tim and Alicia were an absolute joy to shoot. Their first look was the perfect choice for their personalities. Classy and sophisticated if I had to describe. Bishop Arts was the icing on the cake because it has so many different store fronts that we could use as backdrops and the weather was outstanding. Tejas and Marcel Market were a few of the spots that we were able to shoot at.

I love a couple with great chemistry both on and off camera; and they had an abundance. I’m not going overboard ya’ll, but they were just…Let me stop! I am beyond happy for the both of them and glad that they were able to find one another in this crazy world. We all deserve to find our one true love I believe.

I’m really looking forward to making more posts like this one as we progress into the year. This was a quick post, but thank you for reading this far. I’ll catch you guys next time.

Rogers Maternity Session

There's something magical about shooting maternity sessions. All of the love in the air, the glow of a beautiful mommy to be, the father to be walking on air. It's picture perfect (no pun intended).

Two of my college friends are expecting their first child and I had the honor of being their photographer. We decided to shoot at Studio Bella's in Downtown Dallas. The aesthetic of the white room was perfectly matched with Erica's attire. I was definitely getting all the feels!

Total You Health and Wellness

I love connecting with passionate people. Let me ask you something...Have you ever met someone that was so driven or someone who refused to let anything get in their way? Meet Desha Long of Total You Health and Wellness.

Desha contacted me about a session because she was going to be launching her business soon. We spoke, planned and got a date locked in. Desha has such a great personality and she naturally loves taking care of people. She works as an ER nurse and she is a certified wellness coach with a concentration in Naturopathy. Her new business is all about taking care of you. Nutrition, healthy meal plans, diet and so much more. She eats, sleeps and breathes all things health.

What kind of luck did we have to have for a half marathon AND a full marathon to be taking place on the same day of our shoot?! I made it to Studio Bella's early and missed all of the chaos only because I hate being late. I could see outside that the traffic had begun to get out of hand due to the road closures and pedestrian activity downtown. Desha Called me and I could hear that she was flustered because every way she tried to get to the studio was blocked. She didn’t give up though; and somehow she found a way to weave thru all of the obstacles to get downtown. Think about it, if you’re from Dallas you know this traffic and construction can be a beast, but she didn’t let that stop her. 50 & Fabulous

Dana contacted me earlier in the year to make sure that she booked me for her birthday. There were no ideas or a real plan in place. Heck, we didn't have a location, but she knew that I had to be the photographer to shoot her and her sister Dionne's milestone birthday.

I was so pumped up after our conversation. It felt like our agreed upon date was never going to get here but, good things come to those who wait. Over the next few months we bounced ideas off one another and came to the conclusion that shooting in a studio environment would be the best way to go. The heat had been really turning up and by August/September who knew what kind of weather we were going to have? I can answer that...RELENTLESS heat. All of that beautiful makeup would have been melted for certain. So to cut that all out, I went ahead and made plans to book at Studio Bella's in Downtown Dallas.

The theme of the session was 50 & Fabulous. We shot in the black studio and the entire room was definitely fabulous! When Dana, Dionne and the glam squad entered I could tell they were in love. Chandeliers, huge windows that fed ample amounts of beautiful natural light, plush chairs, couches and the list goes on. This venue was definitely a perfect fit for what we came to accomplish.

This was a really fun shoot. We just turned on some good music and vibed out. Everyone took direction so well. One could say that the ladies were born for this. They were super photogenic and their personalities really came out when it was time for action. I could really tell how much D & D loved one another. There is nothing like a bond between siblings. They were each other’s cheerleader and they really showed support for one another throughout the session. If I had to use one word to describe Dana and Dionne, I would say, “Unified”

50 looks good on you ladies!!!! I hope you enjoyed the session as much as I did!

Tymeless Styles

I had the pleasure of working with Tyrone Smith of Tymeless Styles on a collaborative project not too long ago. Our initial conversation was so seamless and we had so many ideas flowing to the point that we had no choice except to put out some great work. Those are the types of conversations that I long for as a creative. The conversations that light a fire within or wake up a part of you that may have been lying dormant. Am I hyping it up too much??? Haha! Seriously though, I love working with people that push me to be better or push me to step up.

I’ve known Tyrone since our days on campus at UT Arlington. He has always been about business for as long as I can remember. Forward thinking as well as a risk taker in my opinion. Thank you for trusting me with the vision to put this all together man. Our first stop was in the Knox/Henderson area of Dallas. The weather was optimal and we were able to execute some really great images during our time there. Check out a few images from our mashup. I think this will be one of many.

Donté x Ossie Uptown Maternity Session

Guess how these two spent part of their anniversary…Having a maternity session with me! I was really excited about working with Donté and Ossie on this maternity session. I had the perfect locations in mind for them. I spoke with the couple prior to the shoot and they told me they both come from the city and they wanted something to reflect that. Donté from New Orleans and Ossie hailing from New Jersey.

We started the session in West Village and I couldn’t have been more pleased. The weather was perfect surprisingly *Texas weather is crazy, the location was great but my couple stole the show. Definitely a stylish couple for sure. You could really tell how much these two cared for one another. Their chemistry was electric. Why do these pics make me think about R&B songs from the early 2000’s??? I’ve got some Carl Thomas going off in my head right now, LOL!

Our second stop was in Preston Hollow and the backdrop definitely complimented the couple. Ossie’s dress had this look of elegance that was just breathtaking and Donté added his signature flair to the mix. This shoot is an indicator of how much their baby will be loved AND how fashionable she will be! Take a look at our maternity session and share your thoughts.
